Canada has one of the largest economies in the world. In fact in January, 2011 The Globe and Mail published a report "Why Canada’s recession wasn’t as brutal". Canada was only G7 nation in global economic downturn in 2008 has recouped its losses from 2008-2009 recession, as both GDP and unemployment remain below pre-recession level.
